The
Locality Planning Groups have been set up to ensure the public have
an active part to play in the planning of their services.
The
CHaSCP is seeking involvement from the public in how their services are
planned and a geographic flavour in the planning of services. This will
be realised through the Locality Planning Groups which will -
- Engage
with the wider community to ensure views are properly representative
- Ascertain,
co-ordinate and express the views of the local community
- Receive
papers for comment from other CHaSCP groups and committees
- Receive
information on new services at a planning stage where appropriate
- Provide
recommendations via CHaSCP to local authorities and to public authorities
on local services
A
public commitment has been made on a number of occasions to allow local
communities active involvement in the planning of their services through
the development of these groups. This commitment has included -
- Membership
will be sought from a wide variety of existing community and voluntary
groups
- Membership
will be open to any interested member of the public
- Meetings
will be open to all members of the public to attend and they will be
regarded as co-opted members
- Co-opted
members will have full voting rights
- Any
resident of the area in attendance will have equal opportunity to speak
(Subject to the discretion of the chair)
- Quarterly
meetings
- Attendance
of members of staff as requested
- Involvement
of patients, service users and the wider public in decisions concerning
their services
- Groups
will be public-driven rather than token representation
Six
groups have been set up for the islands. For further detail on the group
in your area please click on the map.
